Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi and Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar have agreed to enhance collaboration in economic security and AI, building upon an agreement from their bilateral summit in August 2025. During a strategic dialogue in New Delhi, they reaffirmed their commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific and cooperation under the Quad framework, which includes the US and Australia. Both nations plan to strengthen supply chains by establishing a dialogue by March 2026 and holding a vice-ministerial meeting to discuss concrete cooperation steps. Additionally, they agreed to set up a strategic dialogue involving relevant government officials to advance collaboration in AI.
