UK artificial intelligence in science strategy published

The UK’s AI for Science Strategy outlines 15 government actions to position the UK as a global leader in AI-enabled scientific research, with up to £137 million in targeted investment between 2026 and 2030. The strategy prioritises developing frontier capabilities in AI-driven science and retaining UK leadership by focusing on three pillars: data, compute, and people & culture, as well as launching ambitious “missions” to accelerate breakthroughs in areas like drug discovery, advanced materials, fusion energy, engineering biology, medical research, and quantum technologies.
